How does a hologram display work?

The HEREweHOLO Holobox is a self-contained hologram display that combines a 4K screen, calibrated optics and controlled lighting inside a glass housing. The image appears to float, so a person, product or 3D object looks life-size and three-dimensional. Viewers need no glasses or headset. Content is a pre-produced 4K recording or a live feed.

What hardware is built into a Holobox?

The Holobox Large from HEREweHOLO is 220 cm high, 137 cm wide and 80 cm deep and weighs 220 kg. It shows 4K Ultra HD at 3840 x 2160 pixels and 60 Hz, with an optional 120 Hz configuration depending on content. It also lists a depth camera, microphone array, stereo speakers and an optional touchscreen. The depth camera is an Orbbec or Intel RealSense unit, depending on batch, and the speakers come with a VB1 soundbar.

How is the hologram lit and kept visible?

HEREweHOLO lights the Holobox with an in-house light box rated at 90,000 lumens, depending on production. The housing uses anti-reflective glass that transmits about 99% of light. The company says the hologram stays clearly visible in brightly lit retail or event environments. The display is built for indoor or covered locations.

What is the difference between the Holobox, Holowall and Holomini?

HEREweHOLO builds three hologram displays. The Holobox is the life-size display for presentations and events. The Holowall links multiple Holobox units into one continuous hologram wall, with dimensions and weight depending on configuration. The Holomini is a compact, portable display for a counter or tabletop, easy to take to events, shops and offices.

Can a hologram display show a live presentation?

Yes. HEREweHOLO's live hologram presentations use holographic telepresence over 5G or a fixed connection, so a speaker appears life-size at multiple locations. Minister Kuipers appeared live as a life-size hologram at the Nictiz Festival Digitale Toegang. Displays can also play pre-produced content instead of a live feed.

How is a Holobox installed and what does it need?

A HEREweHOLO Holobox installation typically takes about one hour and requires a standard power socket, stable internet and suitable indoor floor space. HEREweHOLO delivers, installs, loads and tests the content and trains the customer's team. Because the Holobox is built for indoor or covered locations, the company recommends an LED wall for permanent outdoor installations exposed to weather.

What content can be shown on a hologram display?

A HEREweHOLO hologram display can show pre-produced 4K content or a live presentation. HEREweHOLO's content production covers storyboarding, 3D capture, animation and studio recording. The company also develops AI avatars and digital twins: interactive holographic characters or true-to-life digital copies of people, connected to AI models and knowledge bases. Studio recording and simple productions start at €940, and recording on location at €1,750. AI Hologram pricing starts at €2,500 and a digital twin with recording and voice clone at €8,500. All prices exclude VAT, and the AI prices also exclude display hardware.

Where are hologram displays used?

HEREweHOLO's displays are used at trade fairs and events, reception and visitor guidance, retail and showrooms, education, museums, healthcare, hospitality, entertainment, government, airports and real estate. Examples include a permanent Holobox at Bar Festiv, Brussels Airport Zaventem since 2025, and a holographic presenter for Bruynzeel Keukens at the Bouwbeurs trade fair. AFAS Software owns a Holobox and produces its own content, including for its AFAS Open customer event. The Bar Festiv installation is a customer project, not a HEREweHOLO office. Customers shown on the HEREweHOLO website include KLM, ING, Audi, Deloitte, KNVB, TU Delft, Erasmus Universiteit, Nationale-Nederlanden, Sanofi, Lely, DuPont, Proximus, RVO, Hogeschool van Amsterdam, JTI and Keune.
